TR: Tüm inşaat malzemeleri gibi, 1800’lerde , o zamanların teknolojik yeniliği olan kalorifer sistemleri de öncelikle Fransa’dan ve sonrasıyla İtalya ve İngiltere’den gelmekteydi. Günümüzde artık çoğunlukla hurdaya gönderilen döküm kalorifer peteklerinin şanslı olanları eskiciler tarafından korumaya alınmış ve satılarak dekoratif amaçlı kullanılmaktaydı. Bu petekleri toplayarak bir atölye kurdum. Önce demonte edildiler, boyaları sökülerek demir haline getirildiler, çürük, çatlak olan dilimler elendi, temizlendikten sonra contalanarak tekrar monte edilerek basınç testlerine tabii tutuldular. Ve kullanıma hazır hale getirildiler.
Yaklaşık 150 yaşında olan bu Fransız demir döküm petekler yeniden güvenli bir şekilde tarihi binalarda ikinci hayatlarını yaşamaya başladılar. Bu petekleri kullanırken tarihi Paris ve Constantinople vanalarının replikalarını da imal etmeyi ihmal etmedik. Bakır borulama ile dekorasyona büyük katkısı olduğunu düşünüyorum.
EN: As most construction materials of the 19th century, the technological innovation of those times; radiator heating systems started to arrive from mostly France, Italy and England to Ottoman Empire. Today, unfortunately only some of the scrapped cast iron radiators saved by junk shops and sold as decorative items. I collected some of these and put up a workshop to restore them as brand new.
First dismantelled then stripped off the layers of paint. Eliminated the weakened or cracked ones, cleaned and re-mounted adding proper leakage gaskets. Passing through the pressure tests, they became safely usable beauties for period houses. Being approximately 150 years old, these French cast iron decorated radiators started living their second lives in surroundings that deserve them.
While reinserting these radiators to their renewed surroundings, we naturally did not forget to produce the replicas of Paris and Constantinople branded brass valves. The copper piping is also supplied to whoever is fine enough to need them.
